A few weeks ago there was a discussion here about extending or trading Pedro Alvarez, and I said (though it would be futile) he should be resigned.
I've since changed my mind. You get a check at the end of the month in return for writing about it.
We write a check at the end of the month for tickets, merchandise and cable TV.
Though Alvarez is a force when he's hot, you cannot have an everyday 3rd baseman go into prolonged severe slumps.
If it wasn't for his power potential, Alvarez may have been shipped to Indy in the past month.
Majore league teams just can't afford to have a guy come up and strikeout or pop up time and time again.
Between never ending slumps and agent Scott Boras, I would move Alvarez as early as this year.
Unfortunately….Neal Huntington almost always accepts the wrong deal in a situation such as this.A few weeks ago there was a discussion here about extending or trading Pedro Alvarez, and I said (though it would be futile) he should be resigned.
